Example Question & Answer
Question: Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult co-worker.
Situation: In my previous internship, I was part of a team working on a critical project with a tight deadline. One team member consistently missed deadlines, impacting our overall progress.
Task: My task was to ensure the project stayed on track and to address the issue with the team member without causing conflict.
Action: I scheduled a private meeting with the co-worker to understand their challenges. I listened actively and discovered they were overwhelmed with multiple assignments. I offered to help by re-distributing some tasks and suggested daily check-ins to monitor progress. I also communicated the situation to our team lead, proposing a revised timeline that accommodated the changes.
Result: The co-worker appreciated the support, and their performance improved significantly. We completed the project on time, and the team's morale remained high. I learned the importance of open communication and proactive problem-solving.
